I am professional, meticulous, deadline-driven, budget-conscious and image-savvy. I have a broad background in marketing and communications, with two decades of experience in both the public and private sectors. Most of all, I believe in clear, crisp communication, integrity and openness, and having fun and enjoying what I do – and I like to work with clients who feel the same.

My freelance clients include several different departments of George Brown College, including the President’s Office, the Centre for Continuous Learning, Marketing Services and the Alumni Association; also, the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association, Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, the Town of Oakville, the City of Burlington, the City of Mississauga, the Region of Peel, Dog Guides - Lions Foundation of Canada, Burlington YouthFest, St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School, Chapman Morris Advertising, The Tax Management Centre, Punch Communications, Ogilvie Rothchild Advertising and the Bruce Trail Association.

My previous employment includes Marketing Services Manager for a gas company, Production Manager for an advertising agency, Marketing Manager for a convention management company, Production Coordinator for a packaging design studio and several years at George Brown College in jobs including Publications Management, Communications, Recruitment and Public Relations.

  • 1994 Trillium Award of Excellence for Course Catalogues at Community Colleges
My freelance work with George Brown College resulted in two of their alumni winning provincial Premier’s Awards and in a Conny award for the Centre for Continuous Learning.

My educational background includes a B.A. from York University and studies in Corporate Communications at Centennial College and Film and Photographic Arts at Ryerson University.

I’ve taken editing courses with the Freelance Editors’ Association of Canada, as well as numerous professional development courses and workshops. Knowledgeable about mutual funds, tax strategies and financial planning, I passed the Mutual Funds and Labour Sponsored Investment Funds licensing exams in 2000 and 2001. I have taught a course in Developing a Freelance Communications Business and am intimately familiar with all aspects of running a business.

My community activities include volunteering on the Promotions Committee of the Oakville Waterfront Festival, the Marketing and Steering committees of Burlington YouthFest and on the School Council for the local school; and fostering a dog guide puppy for the Dog Guide training program of the Lions Foundation of Canada. In 2008, I co-founded Dragonfly Girls Jewelry, creating charming jewelry for special girls and women, and running birthday parties and jewelry workshops.
